I'm having a great time playing with my watercolors, making little bird paintings. I haven't worked in watercolor in awhile, and I'm enjoying the transparency of the color and the clarity of the image.

I'm getting back into the swing of things after a very busy holiday season. I took a rest, caught up on commissions and projects, and now I'm starting new things for 2011. I'll be showing my paintings at the Northcoast Environmental Center for the month of February, in the Jacoby Storehouse in Arcata. I'm starting new bright paintings for spring, with western tanagers, ravens and goldfinches.

Humboldt Artisan Festival

I'll be at the Humboldt Artisan Festival at Redwood Acres this weekend, sharing a space with my friend, ceramic artist Loryn White. I will have small paintings, prints, cards and pins on display. Looking forward to bringing in the holidays!

This month I am one of the featured artists at the Arcata Artisans gallery, and I have my work featured at the Morris Graves Museum in Eureka, in the gift shop for a holiday show. I've been making little bird paintings- they are great little gifts for the holidays and are great fun to create!
